Your First Visit
What To Expect When You Come To Town And Country Animal Hospital
Welcome to Town & Country Animal Hospital. We are so glad to have you as a new client. We have been continuously providing small animal veterinary care at our current location since 1990 and look forward to working with you and your pets.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time. You’ll be welcomed by one of our friendly receptionists who will request that you complete one of our new client forms. A Veterinary Technician will assist you with the form if needed. We want to obtain your pet’s medical history including vaccine history and any previous medical conditions along with an understanding of the reason for your visit today. Your Vet Tech will weigh your pet and assess its temperature, breathing and heart rate.
Dr. Chetkowski or Dr. Carver-Raffa will then meet you in the exam room and review all the provided information. The Doctor, with the assistance of the Vet Tech, will perform a thorough physical and dental exam of your pet. With your permission, we like to give our new patients a treat at the end of the exam to instill in them a sense of happiness with the trip to the doctor. We will discuss the findings of our physical examination with you. We may ask further questions regarding your pet and may recommend diagnostic testing such as blood work or x-rays if required. Your Doctor will then discuss her diagnosis and any treatment plan options with you. We encourage you to be an active participant throughout the appointment by asking questions and becoming completely comfortable with the advice and information being provided by our medical team. We base our practice on mutual trust and a genuine client/pet relationship from the very outset.
You Are Your
pet’s spokesperson.
Your Vet Tech will then provide you with any needed medications and will instruct you in their usage. We will help you to become familiar with the helpful client resources on our website. We are always happy to answer any additional (care) questions you may have. And we are always just a phone call away.
Our front desk staff will process your payment and schedule any needed follow-up appointments.
You can expect a personal follow up call from your Doctor or Vet Tech within 24-48 hours as warranted.
Our goal is to see all patients on schedule, but there are occasional unexpected emergencies that may cause delays. We recognize that your time is valuable and try our very best to minimize these situations.
We sincerely hope to contribute to your pet’s health and quality of life and maintain your trust and satisfaction.
